תכנית לאומית לניטור הפרפרים בישראל הינה כיום מיזם מדע-אזרחי, קהילתי, הגדול מסוגו בארץ.
חברו אל המיזם מוזיאון הטבע ע"ש שטיינהרדט הכולל את צוותי המאר"ג וקהילות הניטור מכל רחבי הארץ מדווחות נתוני ניטור אל מאגר/פורטל תצפיות ניטור פרפרים של ישראל.
הולך ומתרחב שיתוף פעולה עם חוקרים ממוסדות וגופים שומרי טבע.
קהילות מנטרי הפרפרים נתמכות ע"י גופי שמירת טבע, עיריות ומועצות אזוריות .
