BMSapp designed and developed by Israel Pe’er (GlueCAD) to facilitate the Israeli Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (BMS-IL) Citizen Science project. BMSapp is being used since 2015 to monitor more than 400 transects across Israel.

• Easily map in the field section points for new transects, with KML export by email.

Record and store any number of transects, offline by default, and send the data when connectivity is available.

• GPS tracking

Automatically tracks the observer's location along transect sections.

• Automatic weather information

retrieves weather conditions from the nearest weather station.

• Smart alerts

Alerts the observer when a recorded species is outside its known distribution range or outside its expected flight season.

• Species gallery

Enable a set of pictures of every monitored species, making identification faster and easier.

• Data review before submission

Preview and edit a summary of the recorded data before sending it to the central server.

• Report absence

Report the absence of species in case none seen along the transect.

• Maximum data zero typing

No typing required. All data is either selected, clicked or auto identified.
